An Australian railway tale…

Heading to Melbourne, leaving Sydney behind, I can finally choose my favorite transportation, the train. I do agree with mr. Theroux when he says that it ‘s more than a transportation, it’s a part of the country. Nothing provides such a detailed observation of the landscape as the rhythmic motion of a train ride.

Jim, my travel mate. A good talker and a good listener.

“A train isn’t a vehicle. It’s part of the country. It’s a place.” Paul Theroux

“Trains do not depart: they set out and move at a pace to enhance the landscape, and aggrandize the land they traverse.” William Gaddis

For some reason, I always wanted to come to Wagga Wagga. Maybe its name has some kind of strange charm in my mind. Passing by it was a small personal curiosity.
