The Beautiful Game in Calangute: Goa Monsoon Football

They say football is an all weather sport. Yesterday I had the definite proof of that. It doesn’t matter how the weather is, or the conditions that you have to play it… The important is to do it. Walking around Calangute, soaking wet and shivering to the bones, I saw a huge crowd, and heard some familiar shouts. Not that I know Konkani, but I definitely recognize it when it comes to football cheering… No matter what language. And there they were, pledging their love to the beautiful game, in between puddles and mud, the crowd was chanting, cheering their idols and worshipping the Gods of the Stadium. Tomorrow I plan to bring you some Goa routines… Today I thought of bringing you this small appointment.
